So yeah, I’m in LOVE whit this archetype since it was released. I totally love warrior-type monsters (except for those freaking Six-Samurais). And… what do I like more in here? Those warrior-type monsters are BOXERS! And even better: all of them are fire monsters! Is like they burn your face with a powerful knock-out! No, seriously… If you are not playing carefully against them, they can literally knock-out you with a powerful punch, because B.B. take advantage in the battle phase. For those who don’t know how this deck works: the goal of this deck is spam/troll Lead Yoke. Why? By detaching one material, he prevents the destruction (of battle or effect) of one B.B. on your field (including himself), and he gains 800 atk points per detach. That means you can transform a 2200 atk monster into a 3800 atk monster! Isn’t that awesome?
And this is the way I play with them:
- 3x Battlin’ Boxer Switchitter
- 3x Battlin’ Boxer Glassjaw
- 3x Battlin’ Boxer Headgeared
- 2x Battlin’ Boxer Sparrer
- 2x Battlin’ Boxer Counterpunch
- 2x Blaster, Dragon Ruler of Infernos
- 2x Blue Mountain Butterspy
- 1x Reinforcement of the Army
- 1x The Warrior Returning Alive
- 2x Circle of the Fire Kings
- 1x Dark Hole
- 1x Foolish Burial
- 2x Forbidden Lance
- 3x Mystical Space Typhoon
- 1x Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force
- 2x Kaiser Colosseum
- 1x Bottomless Trap Hole
- 1x Compulsory Evacuation Device
- 1x Torrenial Tribute
- 2x Dimensional Prison
- 2x Fiendish Chain
- 1x Solemn Warning
- 1x Staright Road
- 3x Battlin’ Boxer Lead Yoke
- 1x Blade Armor
- 1x Heroic Champion – Excalibur
- 1x Comics Hero King Arthur
- 1x Maestroke the Symphony Djinn
- 1x Number 50: Blackship of Corn
- 1x Number 39: Utopia
- 1x Number C39: Utopia Ray V
- 1x Number 105: Battlin’ Boxer Star Cestus
- 1x Number C105: Battlin’ Boxer Comet Cestus
- 1x Heroic Champion – Kusanagi
- 1x Gagaga Cowboy
- 1x Stardust Dragon
So now, let me explain why I built it that way:
Switchitter means an instant Lead Yoke… Anything else?
Glassjaw recycles your B.B. in grave, even if he is detached by Lead Yoke; so you can make a loop if Switchitter and Glassjaw are attached with Lead Yoke: first detach Switchitter, second Glassjaw, use its eff and bring back Switchitter to use it next turn and bring a second Lead Yoke to the party.
Headgeared sends any B.B. to the grave… Yes, you want them in there so you can s.s. them with Switchitter, return something to your hand if you send Glassjaw or boost your atk with Counterpunch.
And all of them can make sweet combos with Foolish Burial.
Sparrer and Counterpunch are good cards, but you don’t want to keep drawing 2 or more of them at the same time: Sparrer slows down your agresive offensive deck and Counterpunch… 0 atk… Ok, he can protect you for one attack if you don´t have anyting else (you can also send him to the grave with Foolish Burial).
Konami, let me ask you something: why a butterfly is a warrior-type monster?
Who cares! Just use it and you’ll have full access to the Extra Deck (except for Lead Yoke).
Since all monsters are fire (except for the little buterfly), Blaster becomes the icing on the cake: discard him and one fire monster to destroy a card (discard any B.B. and then bring it back to the ring next turn with Switchitter or specifically discard Counterpunch to boost your atk) or banish 2 fire monsters and s.s. him and when whe retunrs to your hand, keep destroyng more cards.
But be careful: Blaster is not your main card, so don’t banish your B.B. to focus on him. If you don’t have anything else to protect your field, banish your B.B. and bring him to the fight. He is your last offensive source, so use it only to destroy cards.
You may be thinking: why run a 2800 atk monster to only ’pop’ cards?
Well, that’s why I run this next card:
Circle of the Fire Kings.
Here is a basic example:
having Lead Yoke on field and Blaste, one fire monster and this spell card in the hand: discard Blaster and that fire monster to destroy something, activate Circle of the Fire Kings and target Lead Yoke on the field and Blaster on the grave, destroy Lead Yoke and s.s. Blaster, chain Lead Yoke’s eff and detach (so he is not destroyed and you boost him with 800 atk points). So now you have 2 powerful monsters to attack with.
Another simple example is having Sparrer and another B.B. on grave and Glassjaw on hand: normal summon Glassjaw, activate Circle of the Fire Kings, target Glassjaw on field and 1 B.B. on grave, destroy Glassjaw and s.s. the other B.B., chain Glassjaw eff, target Sparrer and add it to your hand, s.s. Sparrer and finally xyz summon Lead Yoke.
Rank-Up-Magic Numeron Force is an extra card that makes this deck more agresive. You don’t really need Utopia in this deck, so if you have a chance to summon him, immediately bring Utopia Ray V. Star Cestus is awesome, but you’ll find Comet Cestus more freaking awesome!
Kaiser Colosseum just trolls even more by limiting the number of monsters your opponent controls. Activate this card having Lead Yoke and you can sit, relax and see how your opponents monsters get knocked-out one by one.
You can use Torrential Tribute in 2 different ways: defensive (if you don’t have anything to protect your L.P.) and offensive (having Lead Yoke on the field, activate it when your opponent summons something and clear up the field, leaving alone a boosted Lead Yoke for a ”liver shot” next turn).
Starlight Road just protect you against Mirror Forces, Dark Holes and some other few cards…
Since Heavy Storm is banned, Kusanagi is a good option to negate those annoying traps.
I don’t have a specific Side deck, but you can have in mind this cards:
1x Battlin’ B. Sparrer
1x Neo-Spacian Grand Mole
3x Photon Thrasher
1x Mind Control
2x Mirror Force
2x Malevolent Catastrophe
2x Xyz Reflect
1x Heroic Champion – Gandiva
1x Steelswarm Roach
1x Abyss Dweller
That was my Battlin’ Boxer deck.
I’m really looking forward to see how Konami makes support cards for this deck.
I’m pretty sure this deck can be one of the top tiers decks one day…
Anyway, let me know if you liked it or if you have some other ideas to make knock-outs with them.
”duel hard or go home”.
